I grew up in Searcy, Arkansas and went off to college at Hendrix. I spent summers working for Ozark Mission Project and other youth ministries. I received a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Seminary and was on staff with a campus ministry at the University of Arkansas. I “re-met” Keith during those years and he swooped me away to Georgia, where we were married, have two great boys and planted Christ Community Church from our living room.
Life verse: “You are not your own. You were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your life” (1 Corinthians 6:19b-20)
Favorite foods: Popcorn.
Favorite movie: Depends on the genre.
Hobbies, pastimes and interests: Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Ambitions / aspirations: Plow well.
What I like to read: I listen to audio books so I can walk, clean, garden, etc., while I “read.” I like a wide variety. My favorites? “Unbroken,” “The Demon Under the Microscope,” “Tramp for the Lord,” “The Railway Man, ” “John Adams,” “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” “The Boys in the Boat,” “Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret”
People are surprised to know: I’ve bungee jumped. And I can tap dance.
Best counsel / advice I ever received: The type of man best suited to be your husband you will think, at first, is boring.
My staff role at CCC: Hodge-podge mixture of administrative-database-membership stuff, and then volunteer roles with Resource Center, prayer and Keith-support.
What I enjoy most about serving at CCC: I get the privilege of going through some hard things with people, and also the privilege of going through joys and victories with people.
