Keith Cowart
Lead Pastor

I was born in Arlington, a small town in southwest Georgia. I’m a graduate of Georgia Southern University (BBA, 1986) and Asbury Seminary (M Div, 1991; D Min, 2002). I am married to Pam Taylor Cowart from Searcy, Arkansas, and we have two sons, Andrew and Aaron. In 1997, Pam and I planted Christ Community Church, where I continue to serve as Lead Pastor. For fun, I love reading, traveling doing most anything outdoors with my boys.
Life verse: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
Favorite foods: Seafood, Soul Food, Thai Curry
Favorite movies: “Schindler’s List” (Drama), “Open Range” (Western), “Star Wars” (Action/Adventure), “Cinderella Man” (Sports), “Gladiator” (Dude), “Sense and Sensibility” (Chick), “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” (Comedy), “Saving Private Ryan” (Military), “The Passion of the Christ” (Spiritual).
Hobbies, pastimes and interests: Hunting, fishing, looking for Native American artifacts, racquetball, UGA football, traveling to places rich in history, reading.
Ambitions / aspirations: To see my boys become mighty men of God and to continue learning how to love my wife as Christ loved the church.
What I like to read: Besides the Bible and church-related books: Zane Grey westerns, biographies, historical fiction.
People are surprised to know: I would secretly like to be an underwater treasure hunter. I have my scuba certification. I just need the treasure.
Best counsel / advice I ever received: Linda Adams (Director of International Child Care Ministries) said two things to me years before either of them became a reality: “I really think you and Pam Taylor would make a great couple,” and “If you ever leave your current denomination, you really ought to check out the Free Methodist Church.”
My staff role at CCC: Visionary leadership, core values champion, leadership development, preaching/teaching the Word, and office coffee quality control.
What I enjoy most about serving at CCC: The amazing and ever-humbling privilege of getting to see God change lives right before my very eyes.
