Dewayne Creswell
Leadership Intern

I knew at the age of 13 that God had called me into ministry. Since 1983, when I graduated from Emmanuel College, I have served in part-time or full-time ministry, either as a youth pastor, worship pastor or both. The last 25 of those years have been with my better half, Jodie. (Truth be known, she’s more like my “better three-fourths.”)
Life verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) – “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” Also, Philippians 1:6 (AMP) – “And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ, developing that good work and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.”
Favorite foods: Yes!
Favorite movie: No one specific movie, but I really like action movies.
Hobbies, pastimes and interests: No real hobbies, but I do enjoy movies and reading, and bike riding (which hardly ever happens).
Ambitions / aspirations: To be a growing, consistent follower of Jesus; to love Jodie like Christ loves the church; to father my children in such a way that they have fantastic view of God the Father; to build a worship school and feeder organizations that cultivate and equip students who will advance the Kingdom of God and declare His Glory throughout the earth.
What I like to read: My wife would say “self help” books, which is probably true, because I need a lot of help!
People are surprised to know: As a child I was very mean and did such things as bite my brothers (they deserved it!), run away from school and home, and other things that will not be listed here.
Best counsel / advice I ever received: From my father, when I asked, “Daddy, how will I know when I’ve met the right one?” He said, “Well, son, you’ll just know!” Boy was he right!
My staff role at CCC: Leadership Intern, which means that I am developing the gap year program, Emerge Leadership School of Music, and helping in anyway needed in CCC Worship Ministries.
What I enjoy most about serving at CCC: There is a steadfast commitment to the Word, not just in the pulpit, but in the culture of the church and day-to-day operations. It is a place where the staff genuinely likes one another. It is a place where there is a very real desire to know and do the will of God.
