Volunteer Spotlight: Brandon Thomas
'I Think God Made These Roles for Me'

An active member of CCC's Arise Young Adults community and a volunteer in the Kingdom Kids children's ministry, Brandon Thomas exemplifies CCC's SERVE mission of being "generous stewards of God's gifts."
How long have you been part of CCC?
I have been a part of Christ Community for three-and-a-half years and been a part of Arise for a little over four years.
What ministries do you serve in, and how did you get involved in those areas?
Besides helping with Arise, I am involved in Kingdom Kids, where I do security. Gil Price asked me to fill in one day, and I have been doing it ever since.
What do you enjoy about serving in those ministries?
When I’m doing security and the parents come to pick up their kids, on the way out they will thank me and that makes me fill good. When I am setting up for Arise, I like seeing all the young adults coming in to worship and glorify the Lord. When they are here, it feels like they’re in a comfortable environment.
How does it feel to serve God in these ways?
It feels good to serve a great God. I think He made these roles for me, because they fit me.
How has the CCC staff prepared you for these jobs?
The staff at Chris Community has trained me and told me why we do it, so they have equipped and empowered me.
Do you have a favorite memory or special moment from a time when you served at CCC?
My favorite memory is when the Arise leaders went to Tennessee for a retreat. We got to relax and take a step back from the day-to-day hustle of work, and get closer to God.
What would tell anyone who is wondering if they should get involved as a volunteer at CCC?
I would tell them to pray about it first, and whatever ministry they serve in, do it to glorify God.
