I’ve adopted Chicago as my hometown. Graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology, but more importantly fell in love with Jesus in that city. Have made “bricks” for a rigid polyurethane company, been a corporate headhunter, worked at a Christian Rehab on a fully functioning farm in New Hampshire, and spent most of my career working at an educational not-for-profit on a project to get out-of-school foster kids back into school. This Carver High School graduate never thought she’d be back in Columbus, Georgia, but back I am. No regrets and can’t believe they pay me to “work” here.
Life verse: Just one? Most consistent: “Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13, NLT).
Favorite foods: Pass the bacon.
Favorite movie: Don’t really have just one; love movies where ragamuffins turn into heroes.
Hobbies, pastimes and interests: Lift heavier weights faster, and traveling.
Ambitions / aspirations: Keep loving and following Christ Jesus (and a 2x bodyweight deadlift, and bodyweight clean and jerk).
What I like to read: Teen fiction is my candy ("Hunger Games," "Harry Potter," etc.). Most of the time I enjoy non-fiction – anything from the history of coffee to theology.
People are surprised to know: English is not my first language.
Best counsel / advice I've ever heard: "Perfection is impossible. However, striving for perfection is not. Do the best you can under the conditions that exist. That is what counts." – John Wooden
My staff role at CCC: As Director of SERVE Ministries, I help people discover the gifts and abilities God has placed in them to use in serving Him and others.
What I enjoy most about serving at CCC: The culture and values are lived out from the top down.
