Christ Community Church

What is Crave?

Crave is a place and time provided to encounter the presence of God through the revelation of Jesus Christ through His Word: the Bible.

Crave gives people an opportunity to worship God freely in a less formal setting than the Sunday morning service.

Crave focuses on developing a generation after God’s own heart, committed to prayer, fasting, and carrying out the Great Commandment and Great Commission.

Crave History

In January 2006, a small group of young and older adults from Christ Community Church were stirred to start Crave. They wanted to move wholeheartedly into prayer, longing and seeking to know God the Father on a deeper level. This hunger led the church into valuable prayer meetings and spending hours in the Word of God.

The depths of the Un-searchable, Jesus Christ, led their hearts and they pursued this vision with tenacity. This movement gave birth to what is known today as Crave. While there are many different ways of expressing personal worship, one concept has remained the same - a desire to cultivate hearts in the likeness of Jesus Christ.

How to Get Involved

Yes! Get involved! This ministry depends on various facets such as facilitators, musicians, intercessors, singers, prayer leaders, etc.

There are many different ways of pursuing the Father in prayer and worship; Crave provides an environment, which promotes that freedom. So please come and participate as you feel led.

Contact the church office if you are interested in learning more about Crave...706.565.7240.

Facilitators: Help keep the church open at specific times throughout the week by choosing a 1 hour shift and playing a CD, answering questions, etc. Refer to Facilitator’s Guidelines handout.

Intercessors: Prayer lays the foundation for any ministry, does battle against spiritual opposition, connects us with the heart of God, and follows the Lord’s invitation to seek Him continually. Through Crave we are all intercessors, so you could be involved by studying/meditating in the Word and/or participating with a team.

Musician/Singers: Learn how to sing spontaneously and prophetically with the Word. Declare truth over our Church, City and back to the throne room of God through songs, melodies and harmonies.

Prayer Leaders: Help to engage the prayer room in prayer by proclaiming the Word through a passage and/or verses. It also helps to connect the music team with the prayer room.

Dancers: Help intercession in the prayer room by expressing the Word through motions.

Ideas on what to do during Crave...

Agreement in Prayer: “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 20:18. Agreement in prayer with someone else is powerful.

Meditate on the Word of God: Read a Psalm, a book, a passage in the Bible and ask the Lord what it means.

Individual Bible Study: please refer to “Bible Study Plan.”

Relay any prayer requests that are on your heart to the facilitator for guidance/prayer.

Community Journal: Please see the “Community Journal Entry Sheet” for an explanation.
  • What is a vision or revelation? These come in response to the opening of our hearts and minds to God. God speaks through impressions, visions or words that bring new revelation of Himself.

Soaking: Being still, quieting your heart and clearing your mind from the day’s clutter and focusing on God. No agenda just gazing on the beauty of the Lord.

Meditate on Theophanies: Visions of God. These are pictures of the place where Jesus dwells. To mention a few you can find them in - Exodus (19: 16-20; 20: 1-21; 33:15-19; 34:5-8), - Ezekiel (1:1-28; 10:1-22), - Isaiah (6:1-18), - Daniel (7:9-10; 10:1-11), - Revelation (1:9-18; 4:1-11; 19:11-21).
