Serve Information

Congregational Care Team

Mission: To provide meals as a service to regular attendees of our church who are not in a community group, or help when the need is too great for a single community group.

Areas of Service: Preparation and delivery of meals when there is a need, such as the birth of a child, illness, hospitalization or death of a family member.

Commitment: To be prepared to minister when the need arises.

Guest Service Booth Team

Mission: To hospitably welcome our Christ Community guests, answer their questions and give them directions as needed.

Areas of Service: Serving at the booth in welcome center by being able to answer questions regarding church layout, calendar, activities, special events; packaging materials together for guests; collect communication cards from guests; escort guests to other areas of the church.

Commitment: One Sunday a month, be 20 minutes early to the 9:00 or 11:00 service and stay 15 minutes after.

Hospitality Team

Mission: To serve as the first line of welcome to everyone who comes into our church; to maintain a pleasant environment for all.

Areas of Service:
  • Greeting People
  • Welcoming new guests
  • Answering questions and giving directions
  • Supplying fresh coffee, hot tea, or cold water
  • Ushering/ helping people find seats in the worship center
  • Counting attendance
  • Supporting the children’s registration table when needed.

Commitment: Serving once a month on a given Sunday; attending training sessions when needed.

Military Care Team

SHAPE/Serve Team

Mission: To place volunteers in areas of service using recruitment, education, training, assessment tools, and consultation.

Areas of Service:
  • Administrative help (putting together notebooks, making copies, setting up appointments)
  • Technological assistance (PowerPoint, updating website)
  • Team teaching SHAPE
  • Conducting personal consultations
  • Training various ministries for service

Commitment: Meet with Serve Minister every other month to discuss goals, methods of recruitment, and upcoming classes and training; assist with SHAPE classes that are scheduled 6 – 8 times a year.

Special Events Team

Mission: To coordinate meals and logistics for church-wide events (expense paid by the church).

Areas of Service:
  • Purchasing, preparing and/or ordering meals for Discovery classes, Leadership Community meetings, and church-wide quarterly events
  • Assisting with set up and clean up after events
  • Monitoring tables during events

Commitment: Assist with areas of service listed above on a rotating schedule, and be willing to assist as other events are planned throughout the year such as seminars, conferences, celebration events and the annual church picnic.
