Six CCC members - Misty Tyson, Janell Nielsen, Brian Steiner, Laura Steiner, Anna Steiner and Kate Steiner - comprised a mission team that served in Puebla, Mexico the first week of December. They worked with Columbus native Shane Clark, one of our international ministry partners, at Camp Laughing Child, a Christ-centered therapeutic adventure camp for institutionalized children living with terminal illnesses in Mexico. Following is Shane's report of the week's activities.
I hope that you enjoyed a Christ-filled Christmas with those you love. May this coming New Year be your best ever! Thank you so much for including Camp Laughing Child in your heart.
We recently hosted the 6th annual Family Day Celebration at Camp. It was an awesome Kingdom party! We are beyond grateful to Christ Community Church for sponsoring this important community outreach. They sent us a great team to help serve over 500 kids and adults from the local villages which surround our Camp. We fed everyone delicious BBQ and broke 5 huge piñatas! The kids played non-stop, got their faces painted, and each left the party with a brand new toy. The grateful parents insist that the fun and toys that we provide at this party are the only gifts that most of these kids receive for Christmas each year. Thrillingly, dozens of Bibles are sent home with these poor families. What an honor it is to plant seeds of hope in their hearts and homes!
Thank you for planting with us in 2016! We are believing God for a miraculous New Year! Though this world has never been more lost and broken, we believe that our loving Father has never been more able and eager to save and heal! Thank you for reaching out to hurting children through this little ministry of healing. Your loving support is changing the world of one child at a time through Camp Laughing Child!
Enjoy these happy faces from our Family Day Celebration:
